USAA boasts more tech jobs in San Antonio, Austin

​​SAN ANTONIO, AUSTIN – Local insurance giant for military members, USAA, is boosting its technology brain power across the downtown districts of both San Antonio and Austin in the coming year, as it anticipates hiring about 200 more tech workers between the two markets.

In San Antonio, USAA Real Estate Co. owns One Riverwalk Place, a commercial office building along the 700 block of St. Mary’s St. By the end of first quarter 2017, the company aims to have 250 employees at that location—about half of which in the tech sector.

There are about 150 USAA employees working out of the Alamo City downtown location today. The new cohort is slated to be a mix of new hires and those relocating from other offices in the coming year.

The new jobs in San Antonio will focus on technology, research and development and customer facing digital capabilities. 

In the Austin market, about 100 information technology and design workers are expected to be filled. Those workers are slated to build web applications as designers and software developers.
