DFW - Shopping mall developers were in Las Vegas recently at the annual meeting of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Some of the retail industry’s biggest properties are large regional malls that are in trouble, including Collin Creek Mall in Plano and Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville.
In the last couple of years, the biggest U.S. mall developers have shed their B and C rated malls, but the old, tired malls are still someone’s problem.
The category ranges from still successful dominant malls like NorthPark Center in Dallas to malls that have been dead for years, such as Arlington’s Six Flags Mall, which is slated for demolition.
