Valley Ranch set to kick off retail, New Caney ISD stadium

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – The 1,400-acre master planned community Valley Ranch going up along the Grand Parkway just north of Kingwood includes Houston’s biggest retail project under construction.

Major big boxes included a recently announced Hobby Lobby.

But there are also a high school football stadium and a mixed-use district on the drawing board.

Valley Ranch Town Center​ will have a 240-acre mixed-use development that will encompass 1.5 million sf of retail upon completion.

Site work has already begun for the 55,000-sf Hobby Lobby, alongside other stores including Kroger Marketplace, Sam’s Club and Academy Sports + Outdoors. Those are set to open this fall.

​The district is bordered by a 135-acre park called Town Grove. The district will also include Texan Drive Stadium, a new New Caney ISD football stadium.
