DALLAS - A deal has been reached to develop 20 acres at the northeast corner of LBJ Fwy. and Montfort Rd.

Hillwood Urban will be developing the big chunk of Valley View Mall as a new office tower.

The property includes parking lots and the former Macy's department store at Valley View.

The site is a key portion of the Midtown development district that includes Valley View and stretches between Preston Rd. and the Galleria Dallas mall.

"We believe this particular Midtown location is excellent for a corporate office campus development with outstanding frontage and visibility on I-635," said Bill Brokaw, senior vice president of Hillwood Urban.

The real estate firm says it has started work on conceptual designs for the office project to house companies seeking 200,000 or more sf.

Ken Reese, executive vice president with Hillwood Urban said Hillwood Urban's agreement is that EF Properties will continue to own the land and it will develop the offices.
