HOUSTON – University of Houston–Downtown is purchasing 17 acres immediately north of its existing campus to grow its footprint by 74 percent.
The UH System's board of regents approved the purchase, which will increase the campus to 40 acres.
A new Science and Technology Building will be constructed on the site. There will also be space for other academic and student life facilities.
UHS expects to complete the project by summer 2019.
