American Campus Communities—a name seen frequently throughout Texas universities' housing systems—has filed a permit to begin work on a $13.5 million student housing complex along One University Way for Texas A&M University San Antonio's main campus.

According to the permit filed with the county, the new four-story complex will provide 104,000 sf of space with room for 390 beds.

The new housing development is a significant component of the local university's comprehensive expansion plan, which was implemented to help it transition from a two-year to a four-year university.

The new complex is expected to be completed in time for the incoming fall 2017 freshman class.
