KATY – Officials with the University of Houston System have approved the purchase of a new, 46-acre campus.
UHS University Park will be on a $13.8 million plot near the intersection of I-10 and the Grand Pkwy. The agreement includes an option for an additional 14.6 acres at a cost of $6.3 million if purchased within 12 months.
Regents will also sell the system's ten-acre Cinco Ranch satellite campus. Opened in 1989, the campus, which includes a 36,000-sf classroom building, is landlocked and does not provide opportunities for expansion, a system press release said.
