McKINNEY – McKinney City Council approved an economic development agreement May 17 between the city and Costco that allows for the construction of a Costco at the northeast corner of Hardin Blvd. and US 380.

The 37-acre development, to be named 380 at Headington Heights, could also be home to several other big-box retailers, according to site developers.

The building will be 150,000 sf with more than 700 parking spaces and a members-only fuel station.

The membership wholesaler has stores throughout the area, including both Frisco and Plano.

Costco officials said they have been working with the city for quite some time as they researched the appropriate location for the new store.

Costco officials said the store would be slightly larger in size and offerings than its Frisco location.
