Big Brothers Big Sisters open arms for Houston
HOUSTON – Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will break ground on its new local headquarters near downtown Houston on May 25.
The groundbreaking ceremony will also launch the final phase of fundraising for the 21,000-sf building, at 1003 Washington Ave. just north of downtown.
So far, more than 60 percent of the funds needed have been raised.
The building will feature a three-story atrium, Mentoring Hall of Fame, café, children’s play room and an event space on the third floor, including a full kitchen and open-air balcony with views of downtown.
In addition to allowing the organization to serve more children and families, the building also will create heightened visibility for BBBS, with its proximity to I-45.
