DALLAS - Finding room at the inn won’t be a problem in Dallas-Fort Worth in the years ahead.
More than 16,000 additional hotel rooms are in the works in the DFW area—a 41 percent jump from a year ago, according to a new report from Lodging Econometrics.
The DFW area had the biggest increase in hotel construction projects in the pipeline in the hotel industry analyst report. More than 125 hotel projects are now under construction or planned in North Texas.
Lodging Econometrics reports that there are currently 39 hotel projects under construction in the DFW area, and another 63 hotels are expected to start in the next 12 months.
DFW currently ranks third in the country in hotel construction, behind New York (101 hotels) and Houston (41 projects).
Out of the hotels being built in North Texas, 29 are Marriott International flagged projects.
