BBVA banks on new downtown San Antonio office
SAN ANTONIO – Count BBVA Compass as downtown’s next major tenant.
The bank decided to move its corporate offices and flagship branch to the city center.
The bank has signed a lease for 28,600 sf on the ground and second floors of the 32-story Weston Centre at 112 E Pecan St.
It will occupy a 9,600-sf space in the lobby for a retail branch, and 19,000 sf on the second floor for its corporate offices.
BBVA is planning the move in early to mid-2017.
The company’s future office will undergo extensive renovations prior to the move, including an open-space layout on the second floor.
The company is currently an achor tenant for Concord Plaza, a Class A property along Highway 281 at Jones Maltsberger which has been purchased by Whataburger.
