HOUSTON - Little changed last month in Houston's housing market with sales flat from a year earlier and inventory the same as March, the Houston Association of Realtors said in its monthly report.

Buyers closed on 6,310 single-family homes in April with a median sales price of $217,000.

Home sales through April are 1.6 percent higher than they were through the first four months of 2015.

The sales pace was down 0.6 percent overall in April, with the least and most expensive segments showing year-over-year declines. Activity picked up for homes priced from $150,000 to $500,000.
