HOUSTON - Around two years ago, the Awty International School was struggling with a boom in applicants and was wait-listed in every grade.

Now, the school is working to break ground on roughly $50 million in new facilities.

Awty's new 73,000-sf early learning center will break ground this summer on 5.25 acres at 1110 North Post Oak Blvd., Kevin McTernan, chief advancement officer at Awty, told the Houston Business Journal.

The expansion will cost around $15 million.

The early learning center will have 25 classrooms for students in pre-K through 1st grade, as well as dining facilities, work spaces for art and music courses, a library and a gym.

Also on the land will be more than 20,000 sf of outdoor play space.
The early learning center should deliver next summer.

Once it wraps up, Awty will move forward on a new student activities center and fine arts annex.

The facilities will house dining services for 2nd through 12th grade students, as well as meeting spaces, art studios and a technology and robotics workspace.

Only Awty's early learning center has a firm pricetag, but all in all, the new developments will cost around $50 million.
