KATY - In a year when many real estate projects have slowed down due to weather or the oil slump, the British International School of Houston's plans to move into its new $80 million campus in Katy are right on target.

The school's new 275,000-sf campus at Westgreen Blvd. and Franz Rd. is poised to accept its first class this fall.

The campus will be able to occupy roughly 1,200 students; its current facilities at 4211 Watonga Blvd. in the Garden Oaks area can accommodate 850 students. That facility will be sold once the school moves to Katy.

The new campus will include science and design technology labs, an aquatic center and athletics facilities. The school’s performance auditorium was developed with New York City’s The Juilliard School, a global leader in arts education.

The owner of the British International School, Hong Kong-based Nord Anglia Education, is financing the $80 million project.
