Crossing the state line doesn’t make you a Texan…but
TEXAS - You can’t just cross the state line and call yourself a Texan. Though membership cards aren’t handed out at the "Welcome to Texas" sign, there are certain traditions in the Lone Star State that can make you part of the unique culture.
Here are some of the 29 things the Houston Chronicle suggested to do before you can call yourself a Texan.
Eat at Franklin Barbecue in Austin
Attend a Texas A&M or University of Texas football game
Make a pit stop at Buc-ee’s:
Chicken S*** Bingo: The Big T Roadhouse, St. Hedwig.
Visit Cadillac Ranch (Amarillo):
Show your creative side with a can of spray paint at Cadillac Ranch. The art installation has been there since the 70s.
The Painted Churches, Schulenburg/High Hill
