COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M University is planning more than $68 million in new athletic facilities. The A&M System Board of Regents will vote on the issue at its meeting tomorrow.
Plans include a new $39.8 million track-and-field stadium and a $28.6 million softball stadium. Both facilities would be built along Penberthy Rd. between Tom Chandler Rd. and George Bush Dr.
The 100,000-sf track-and-field stadium is designed to seat more than 3,000. The softball stadium will accommodate about 2,000.
