22-story residential gets plan commission’s A-OK
EL PASO – The city’s plan commission has unanimously approved a developer’s rezoning request for a planned 22-story hotel and apartment tower on the city’s west side.
The project, by Meyers Group of Florida, is headed to the city council, which El Paso Inc. says is likely to give it the green light.
In addition to hotel rooms and apartments, the development would have an attached 715-space parking garage. The development will be on four acres near the corner of Shadow Mountain and Sunland Park.
Total investment in the project would likely exceed $100 million, Meyers said. The company will seek a tax incentive package from the city.
Pending city council approval, construction could start in first quarter 2017 and wrap up 18 months later.
