MESQUITE – Dallas-based Real Estate LLC is building a 334,000-sf shipping hub for FedEx on the former site of the Big Town shopping center on US 80 near Buckner Blvd.
Big Town was the Dallas area’s first shopping mall. It opened in 1959. Ten years ago, it was demolished, and the property was rezoned for industrial construction.
FedEx will start operations in the new facility in September of next year. The facility will employ around 500.
