SAN ANTONIO – Nearly $132.6 million has been allocated to design and develop a federal courthouse in San Antonio to replace the aging structure built as part of the Hemisfair ’68 World’s Fair.

The money is part of a General Services Administration spending plan for fiscal 2017 that was unveiled April 18.

The project would include a 305,000-sf U.S. Courthouse and an indoor parking garage.

In December 2015, Congress approved an omnibus appropriations bill that included $135 million in funding for construction of a new federal courthouse in San Antonio.

The new facility is expected to be developed on a cleared parcel where the former San Antonio Police headquarters building once stood, west of the former World’s Fair site.
