CORPUS CHRISTI - Developers earlier this month submitted plans for a new apartment complex, the Holly Road Apartments at 3401 Holly Rd.

The price tag for the first five buildings of the complex is about $3.8 million.

Joe Ommani, the builder and owner of the project, said the complex is being built for the working class.

One-bedroom apartments will start around $600 per month, and three-bedroom units will cost about $1,100 monthly.

The project will be completed in two phases, the first is expected to be complete and open by the end of the year.

It will include 72 units, a pool and a leasing office.

Phase 2, which Ommani hopes to complete by the end of 2017, will add two more 24-unit buildings, bringing the complex total to 120 units.

And that's not the only apartment-related news out of the city's Development Services Department for early April.

The Riverstone Apartments—a $4 million undertaking at 3521 Airline Rd.—received the necessary permits from the city regulators.
