Dallas public school earns straight A’s in national rankings
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nineteen Texas public high schools ranked among the top 100 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of best high schools for 2016.
Dallas’ School for the Talented and Gifted took top honors for the fifth straight year.
The rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates, and how well they prepare students for college.
Other Texas schools ranking high on the list were School of Science and Engineering, also in Dallas (fourth place); Houston’s Carnegie Vanguard High School (tenth); and Arlington’s Summit International Preparatory (22nd). All earned gold medals.
