DALLAS – Dallas has landed near the top of a lot of what Realtors say are America’s biggest boomtowns, according to a new report by Realtor.com.
Big D ranked just behind a suburb of Phoenix and Los Angeles as markets where a combination of strong economic growth and building are contributing to the home sector.
Each of the markets that were on the Realtors’ list have job and household growth and surging home starts.
Growth in central Dallas put the city near the top place nationally for growth, the Realtors said.
North Texas created almost 117,000 jobs in the last year and home sales in the area were up 16 percent in the first quarter. Home starts rose 22 percent in the first quarter.
