Things looking smart at old Dallas Homefurnishings Mart

​​​DALLAS – Dallas Market Center is remodeling the original building in the five million-sf wholesale mart complex on Stemmons Fwy.

Built in 1957 by Trammell Crow as the Dallas Homefurnishings Mart, the 434,000-sf building will get significant exterior and interior upgrades. The last major makeover of the property, which is now called the International Trade​ Plaza, was in the 1990s. 

Dallas Market Center is revamping the ground floor to give interior designers and retailers 220,000 sf. Reconstruction will also add large front windows, exterior doors, and a new entry.

Construction will start this summer. Work will be finished later this year.​
