HOUSTON – Midway Cos. and Lionstone Investments are joining and rebranding two downtown towers as The Jones.

The ten-story building at 708 Main and the 37-story building at 712 Main, formerly known as the Gulf Oil Building, will be connected and rebranded under a new name that pays homage to Jesse H. Jones, who commissioned the latter in 1929.

Renovations will include connecting the two buildings at the ground level via a joint common space and adding classically inspired interior amenities throughout the area. There will also be a new restaurant and space for retail with sidewalk patios along Main St. and Rusk St.

The common area, dubbed Currency Lounge, will be available to tenants and guests for meetings and social events.

Colvill Office Properties will handle leasing. Renovations will start in June and should be complete in early 2017.
