PASADENA - Ventech Engineers International LLC will cut 96 jobs in the Houston area.

According to a letter the company sent to the Texas Workforce Commission, employees received 60 days notice that their last day will be June 3.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter did not provide a reason for the cuts.

However, Ian Anderson, president and CEO, said the company is completing a couple of major projects and the cuts are due to those winding down.

Ventech is an engineering, procurement and construction company that focuses on modular systems design and fabrication for petroleum refiners and related industries.

In recent years, the company began to focus on building small and mid-sized gas-to-liquids plants.

Ventech's headcount was 265 as of March 31. The company is based at 1149 Ellsworth Dr. in Pasadena.
