FORT WORTH - Plans are in the works for a new Tanger Outlet Center serving the greater Fort Worth/Denton and adjacent metro areas.

The new center will be a signature retail component of a 279-acre mixed-use real estate development adjacent to the Texas Motor Speedway.

Champions Circle is located 18 miles north of downtown Fort Worth at the intersection of I-35W and SH 114, across from the main entrance to the Texas Motor Speedway.

Steven B. Tanger, president and CEO of Tanger tells GlobeSt.com: "We are not starting construction until we have 60 percent of the space committed. We intend to break ground before the end of the year and will take about a year to build."

When complete, this new retail destination is expected to contain approximately 350,000 sf of retail space and feature more than 70 upscale brand name and designer outlet retailers.

The new Tanger Outlets center is expected to create more than 400 full and part-time jobs during the construction phase of the project and more than 900 full and part-time retail jobs once the center opens.
