Beaumont’s booming housing market

BEAUMONT – Recent data shows a strong market for Beaumont and surrounding areas, a very different scenario from a year ago.

In February, the most recent month for which there are figures, the Beaumont Multiple Listing Service had 1,297 homes in its sales inventory. Completed sales were 209, with a value of $31.8 million and an average list price of $150,000.

At the current sales pace, it would take about 3.5 months to sell out existing inventory.

A year ago, there were 75 completed sales with a value of $10.9 million and an average list price of $146,000. The inventory sellout period was seven months.
