​​DALLAS – ​​Phoenix-based RED Development breaks ground April 20 on an 800,000-sf office, residential, and retail development near Victory Park.

The two-tower development, called The Union Dallas, will be at Field St. and Cedar Springs. It will serve as headquarters for independent accounting firm Weaver and global law firm Vinson & Elkins, and it will house a 60,000-sf Tom Thumb grocery store​.

Plans include 407,000 sf of Class AA office space on 14 floors, 300-unit high-rise apartment space on 20 floors, and 82,5000 sf of retail and restaurant space.

The Union Dallas will also have 11 levels of above- and below-ground parking and 21,000 sf of green space and an events plaza. 

HKS Inc. is the project architect, and the Office of Jim Burnett is the landscape designer. Construction is slated to be complete by third quarter 2017.
