Touchdown Taipei: IAH to fly nonstop to Taiwan
HOUSTON – EVA Air added new nonstop Houston-Taipei, Taiwan, flights this month and plans to add more in the fall.
The Taiwanese airline currently operates four flights a week from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Starting March 27, it began operating six per week, and by October 10 it plans to operate daily flights.
EVA Air launched its first flight out of Houston in June 2015 on its brand-new Hello Kitty-themed Boeing 777-300ER.
Initially, the airline only made the trip three times a week.
Houston has added a number of international flights in recent months. Several airlines are applying to add even more with a regular Houston-to-Havana, Cuba, flight.
The Houston Airport System posted another record year in 2015 with more than 55 million passengers.
Both George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airports were able to surpass their 2014 numbers, despite being in the middle of major construction projects to bolster their international terminals.
