Four new ‘Planets’ fit into Houston area

​HOUSTON – Planet Fitness plans to expand in Houston over the next five weeks.

The fitness center franchise opened the first of four new Houston-area locations on March 22 at 24547 Katy Fwy., located within Crossing at Katy Ranch between Walmart and Main Event Entertainment.

​The 20,000-sf gym is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Next month, Planet Fitness plans to open two other locations in the greater Houston area.

The first will open in early April at 1701 Fairway Dr. in Alvin. The gym is slated to be 19,000 sf with cardio and strength equipment, locker rooms, and tanning and massage beds.

Planet Fitness is also slated to open its third Houston location at 6960 Barker Cypress Rd. in West Houston.

Finally, on May 2, the company will open its fourth new Beechnut location at 8150 Southwest Fwy.

Houston currently has ten Planet Fitness locations.
