Two Katy high schools take home an A+ for top Texas schools
KATY – Seven Lakes High School and Cinco Ranch High School were ranked as two of the best high schools in the state by an educational review website based in Pittsburgh.
Niche.com—invented by students at Carnegie Mellon University—is a website that reviews and collects information about schools, neighborhoods and colleges across the country.
The site’s staff ranked the top 25 high schools in Texas—Seven Lakes High School landed at No. 12 on the list while Cinco Ranch High School came in at No. 15.
The rankings include measurements of a public high school’s academic strength, teacher quality, school resources, student life and student and parent reviews.
Within those measurements are subcategories giving each school a grade on factors, such as health and safety as well as sports and fitness.
All rankings are based on statistics and surveys from students, alumni and parents.
The rankings include data based on state standards. The state reported that 96 percent of Seven Lakes High School students were proficient in math or reading and 95 percent of students were proficient at math or reading at Cinco Ranch High School.
Niche ranked the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin No. 1 in Texas.
