​​​AUSTIN – The Texas General Land Office is now accepting applications for its new Coastal Resiliency Advisory Group.

The 15-member group will evaluate how state policies and programs affect coastal regions and make recommendations to the Texas land commissioner on matters relating to coastal resiliency and recovery.

The group will also recommend policies for the use, allocation, or distribution of funds that include identification of statewide priorities and issues relating to applications for financial assistance.

Three members will be selected from each of the five following coastal regions:

  • Region 15 (Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange counties),
  • Region 16 (Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton counties),
  • Region 17 (Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, and Victoria counties),
  • Region 20 (Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleburg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio counties), and
  • Region 21 (Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties). 

Members will serve two-year terms, and meetings will be held quarterly.

Applications must be submitted by April 11, 2016.
