PLANO – Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters—a joint venture between Bandera Ventures and Rugen Street Capital—has begun construction on a new multi-phase, 21-acre data center campus in the Legacy area.

The initial phase of the campus—a 150,000-sf, 25-megawatt data center—is underway and will be delivered in October 2016.

The campus at 6800 Communications Parkway is being called Skybox Legacy.

Skybox Datacenters plans to expand the campus up to 350,000 sf, or 60 megawatts in one or more data center facilities.

This data center campus will qualify for House Bill 1223, which can provide data center sales and use tax abatements for large data center users across their servers, power, infrastructure and operations.

The groundbreaking for the new data center campus is scheduled for March 29.
