BEE CAVE - A gated residential subdivision is planned for a 67-acre tract bordering the Lake Pointe subdivision off Bee Cave Rd.

The subdivision, which will be called Lakes Edge, will include 132 homes that will range from 2,000 sf to 4,000 sf, with prices in the $500,000–$600,000 range to start.

The project’s plan is to have the infrastructure complete by spring 2017 with model homes possibly on the ground around the same time, developer Clint Jones said.

It is foreseeable that the first move-in homes can be ready by fall 2017, Jones said.

Unlike other area neighborhoods that are zoned to Lake Travis ISD, Lakes Edge children will attend Eanes ISD.

Eanes ISD formerly owned the parcel and sold the land for $4.85 million to Jones, who plans to develop only 47 acres of the parcel.

Eanes ISD held onto a 26-acre parcel, planning to use the land for sports fields as part of its negotiations to build a River Hills Rd. sports complex.
