CBRE: DFW No. 3 target market for investments
LOS ANGELES – According to CBRE’s recently released Americas Investor Intentions Survey 2016, Dallas-Fort Worth ranks as the No. 3 target market for real estate investors.
The region’s diverse economy helped spark investor interest, says Chris Hipps, managing director of CBRE’s investor services.
"With that growth, Dallas-Fort Worth is attracting a broader pool of talent and experiencing a surge in both infill and suburban urbanization," Hipps said. "Plus, we’re still viewed as a market where comparatively good returns can be achieved. All of this combines to attract a deeper class of private equity and institutional investors."
Los Angeles was the top target market for real estate investment, followed by New York City. Austin, the only other Texas city to make the list, ranked 12th.
About 81 percent of investors surveyed by CBRE expected to maintain or increase their spending this year. Multifamily is the most attractive property type with 38 percent of investors looking to acquire this real estate. Twenty-four percent of investors seek office properties, 23 percent seek industrial properties, and 17 percent seek retail properties.
