​​ALVIN – Colorado-based Dish Network Corp. announced March 8 that it will close a Houston-area customer service center in May.

Approximately 550 employees work at the facility in Alvin, south of Houston.

Employees can apply for other positions within the company, and those who transfer will be eligible for relocation expense reimbursement.

Dish also will make résumé and interviewing assistance available and will invite other local companies to conduct job fairs at its site.

The company employs more than 3,000 people at its Texas locations, including a large sales, service and manufacturing facility in El Paso; a service facility in Harlingen; and in-home services facilities across the state.
