CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the City of Corpus Christi are working together to renourish North Beach.

The project is authorized and funded in part by the State of Texas under the GLO's Coastal Erosion Planning and Response Act (CEPRA) program.

Work will consist of nourishing the beach with approximately 70,000 cubic yards of beach-quality sand over an area of North Beach stretching roughly 3,200 linear feet from Bridgeport St. to just north of Stewart St. in the vicinity of Surfside Park.

Construction began at the end of February and should last about nine weeks.

The construction contract has been awarded to Apollo Environmental Strategies Inc.
