TEXAS - When it comes to buying a home, more and more people are considering multi-generational homes.

That’s when your kids come back to the nest, or maybe your parents or in-laws decide to move in with you.
A recent report from the Texas Association of Realtors shows this trend is becoming more and more popular—not just in Texas, but across the country too.
Fifteen percent of home buyers in Texas purchased a home for a multi-generational family, meaning that children over 18 or aging parents would also be living in the house.
Nationally, the amount was 18 percent.
Homes in Texas are also typically larger than homes sold nationwide. The median size of a home purchased in Texas is more than 2,060 sf compared to 1,019 sf nationally.
