San Antonio: Whose hotel bed have your boots been under?
SAN ANTONIO – The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country
Resort & Spa was the most lucrative hotel in Bexar County by far last year,
selling $63 million worth of room rentals.
The Grand Hyatt San Antonio, next to the Convention Center,
was in second place with $47.8 million, followed by the downtown San Antonio
Marriott Rivercenter with $45.4 million, according to data from the Texas
Department of Licensing and Regulation.
In fourth place was the Hyatt Regency San Antonio, with
$28.5 million, while the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa was in
fifth with $27.4 million.
The St. Anthony Hotel finished the year with $1.6 million in
room rentals, even though it was closed until last fall for a 30-month
renovation.
The Hotel Emma at The Pearl, which opened in November,
reaped in $539,000.
Bexar County hotel revenue is on the rise: local hotels
collected $1.07 billion in room rentals altogether in 2015, up from $1.04
billion in 2014 and $976.3 million in 2013.
Statewide, hotels reported $10.3 billion in room
revenue.
