SAN ANTONIO - The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa was the most lucrative hotel in Bexar County by far last year, selling $63 million worth of room rentals.

The Grand Hyatt San Antonio, next to the Convention Center, was in second place with $47.8 million, followed by the downtown San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter with $45.4 million, according to data from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

In fourth place was the Hyatt Regency San Antonio, with $28.5 million, while the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa was in fifth with $27.4 million.

The St. Anthony Hotel finished the year with $1.6 million in room rentals, even though it was closed until last fall for a 30-month renovation.

The Hotel Emma at The Pearl, which opened in November, reaped in $539,000.

Bexar County hotel revenue is on the rise: local hotels collected $1.07 billion in room rentals altogether in 2015, up from $1.04 billion in 2014 and $976.3 million in 2013.

Statewide, hotels reported $10.3 billion in room revenue.
