SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo has closed on an
additional two acres to expand its campus north of downtown, and while there
won’t be any additional lions or monkeys, there will definitely be something
running around.

The zoo has plans to repurpose the 25,000-sf building at 103
Tuleta Dr.—a parcel with Hwy. 281 to the east and Trinity University to the
west—for its Zoo School program, a nature-based preschool for children ages
three to five.

The KIPP Public Charter Schools was the seller in the
transaction.

The zoo, which was established in 1914, spans
more than 56 acres along the Broadway corridor.
