DALLAS-FORT WORTH - Signs for a new home builder will soon be popping up in North Texas as Taylor Morrison has purchased land for its first two North Texas communities.

Taylor Morrison has been in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2012 when it bought Plano-based Darling Homes.

With plans to have its first DFW homes ready for sale next year, Taylor Morrison feels they have an opportunity to hit a price point between $350,000 and $600,000, division president Scott Schwanke said.

The builder has purchased about 300 home lots in McKinney and almost 550 lots in the Tribute community on Lewisville Lake in the Colony. Darling homes will also build in the new communities.

The DFW area is one of the largest and most competitive new home markets in the country. Most of the country’s largest builders have a presence in North Texas.
