ARLINGTON – KWA Construction has broken ground on the first phase of Arlington Commons, the largest multifamily redevelopment project in the city’s history.

The 1,300-unit, $200 million project will be near Globe Life Park at 425 E. Lamar Blvd.

Phase one of the four-phase development will occupy 5.6 acres at the 22.2-acre site and consist of a four-story, 353-unit apartment community and garage. It will also include a 1,589-sf leasing office, 869-sf clubhouse, 1,173-sf fitness center, and 2,100-sf lounge and conference center.

Floor plans include one- and two-bedroom units ranging from 777 to 1,281 sf.

JHP Architecture/Urban Design designed Arlington Commons. Developer The Nehemiah Co. expects the first phase to be completed within two years. The entire project will be completed in 2026.

The redevelopment has garnered $10.5 million in local economic incentives.
