DALLAS – The upcoming groundbreaking for The Union office/apartment/retail/restaurant project by Phoenix-based Red Development will be bringing a Tom Thumb grocery store across from Victory Park in Uptown Dallas.
It’s officially a trend: Grocers want to be an elevator ride away from large numbers of Dallas apartment dwellers.
This year, there’s a new apartment building open on Cole Ave. just south of Knox St. that will soon have a Trader Joe’s (2016) at street level.
So now, sometime in 2017, you can live in an apartment above a Tom Thumb, too.
Here are The Union’s details:
- 800,000 sf in two towers, including a 414,000-sf office building with 14 floors and 300-unit high-rise apartment building on 22 floors
- 87,500 sf of retail including restaurants and a 60,000-sf Tom Thumb
- ten levels of above and below street parking
- large public plaza connects all of it
