COLLEGE STATION – Obtaining a Texas Real Estate License, the Real Estate Center's most downloaded publication, has been completely updated and is available online for free.

A lot has changed since Center attorney Judon Fambrough last updated the guide in 2010. The 23-page document has information about:

  • new course requirements, updated forms, and costs;
  • the Texas Real Estate Commission's (TREC) online application process, which is less expensive than the traditional paper option;
  • TREC's list of course providers, which includes first-time pass rates of their students;
  • the number of chances a person has to pass the real estate license exam in one year (hint: previously there was no limit, but there is now); and
  • changes in specific continuing education requirements for sponsored brokers.

And that's just the beginning.

If you’re considering getting a Texas real estate license, or you know someone who is, downloading Obtaining a Texas Real Estate License is an invaluable first step in the process.
