Harbor Bridge construction to begin in April
CORPUS CHRISTI – "Bridge Over Troubled Water" could almost be the anthem for a project that has generated considerable controversy the past few years, but that’s about to change.
Construction of the city’s new Harbor Bridge will begin mid-April, according to an announcement at Tuesday’s Port Commissioner’s meeting.
The Texas Department of Transportation said it would formally tell contractors Wednesday to proceed. Construction could begin by mid-April. The bridge will take four to five years to complete.
Residents living in or near the construction zone and are interested in the Port’s buyout program can attend a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. March 7 at the Solomon Coles High School gym.
