WACO - Polyglass, a maker of high-tech roofing rolls, is in line for local incentives to expand its operations to Waco.

Polyglass has gained approval for a reinvestment zone that would allow a seven-year partial tax abatement worth $221,558. In addition, the Waco-McLennan County Economic Development Corp. has recommended more than $200,000 in direct incentives from the city-county fund.

The Florida-based company would invest nearly $20 million in an existing building and hire at least 45 people.

Polyglass is looking to renovate a 150,000-sf former Anheuser-Busch distribution building at 1701 Exchange Parkway, where it would manufacture rolled polymer roofing for commercial buildings.

The company would hire employees over three years, starting after the building improvements are completed in 2017.
