DALLAS - With expansions in the medical district Dallas’ Maple Ave. corridor northwest of downtown has been one of the hottest apartment building markets.

Instead of more apartments, a high-end storage facility is being built where apartment renters can store their belongings.

Rosewood Property Co.—the same firm that built Uptown’s landmark Crescent complex—is building a four-story, climate controlled storage facility on the former office site at Maple and Butler.

The project will be aimed at customers in the medical district, Oak Lawn and nearby Love Field.

Storage facilities are popping up in most of the new apartment districts, one under construction near downtown Dallas’ Farmers Market and another in the works off Maple Ave. and the Dallas North Tollway in Oak Lawn where two large rental communities just opened.
