HOUSTON – A new, 210,000-sf Saks Fifth Avenue building opens April 28.
The existing store will close April 20 so employees can move merchandise to the new store, which will employ 40 more than the existing one. The current Saks building will be turned into the mall’s new luxury wing. Construction will begin on this space after Saks moves into the new building.
The store will be 20,000 sf larger than the existing one and will include high-end features, such as:
- cocktail bar;
- expanded women’s department with 22 designer boutiques;
- expanded show salon and the first Christian Louboutin boutique outside of the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store;
- 20,000-sf cosmetics department with 15 specialized brands, including one of only five Gucci beauty spots in North America (the beauty and fragrance department will be Sak’s largest outside of New York);
- Fifth Avenue Club, which offers personal shoppers and private dressing rooms; and
- valet parking, underground parking, and a delivery service called the Personal Service Experience.
52fifteen Restaurant and Lounge also will move to the new location. The restaurant, which is owned and operated by Landmark Houston Hospitality Group, will be a third bigger than the old location.
