MADISON, Wis. – Texas apartments are going to the dogs, and that’s good news for pet-owning renters.

According to online apartment marketplace Abodo, cities in the Lone Star State are the most pet-friendly in the nation.

Dallas ranked first, where 78 percent of apartments are considered "pet-friendly," meaning they accept dogs and cats on their properties. Austin ranked second with 55 percent, followed by Houston (46 percent), San Antonio (44 percent), and Chicago (39 percent).

Things weren’t exactly the cat’s meow outside of Texas. Boise, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Seattle all had less than 10 percent of their apartments accepting four-legged friends.
