Houston’s Uptown ‘ad’Vantage with 40-story residential tower
HOUSTON – A major apartment developer is planning to build a new 40-story residential tower in Uptown, according to public records filed with the City of Houston.
The Dinerstein Cos. submitted plat documents to the city’s planning department for a residential tower called Vantage. The project is planned for 1.53 acres at the northeast corner of Post Oak Blvd. and San Felipe Rd. in Uptown.
The owner of the land is Class A Investors Post Oak, a limited partnership that was registered to John Caltagirone, the chief investment officer of The Dinerstein Cos.
The podium-style tower, designed by Gensler, will feature two floors of retail; seven floors of parking, including two underground; an indoor and outdoor amenity deck on the seventh floor and 32 stories of residential space, according to a building elevation.
The luxury apartment developer, which has built several wood-frame midrise apartment across the Bayou City, told the Houston Business Journal last year that it plans to develop more high-rise apartment towers.
In January 2015, The Dinerstein Cos. broke ground on its first luxury apartment tower near the Texas Medical Center. The 22-story, 375-unit high-rise—dubbed The Millennium Tower—was the tallest project the company had announced in its more than 50-year history.
